It’s been four years since I started Moriarty. Four years where we’ve worked on events as diverse as an hot air balloon rides over the tuscan hills for a corporate off-site, to a complete transformation of The Lanesborough into a woodland wonderland. I was behind every element of our first brand design, from writing the website to hand-painting the marbled effect used on the website, but while Moriarty has developed and grown over those years, our look hasn’t grown with it.
So, it was about time we directed the same attention we apply to our clients’ brands, to our own. It’s been an incredible journey, revisiting the roots of Moriarty and exploring what it is that makes the company so unique. We’ve spent months perfecting the look; refining the colour palette and honing our collateral. Our website has been overhauled and streamlined, showcasing our offering in a simpler, more easily navigable way. A fresh, pared-back design allows the images to take centre-stage, showing off the vivid beauty and intricate details of our events with more power than any words could do.
Discovering that ‘Moriarty’ was derived from an old Irish name - Muircheartaigh - meaning ‘navigator’, felt like fate. This idea of navigation, of exploration and adventure, is the essence of Moriarty. Anything but conventional, we inject colour, laughter and infectious energy into every detail. Every element is imaginatively conceived to lift it from the day-to-day. We push boundaries, driven by inventive imagination and strategic ambition.
Because that is where Moriarty began. From working on film and theatre sets, my focus has always been envisioning and producing details that are a little out of the ordinary. An inventive location, a colour palette that tells a story, styling that lifts you from this world and into another. And behind all of those artistic details, my understanding of business, strategy and numbers makes sure every event, launch, dinner and more delivers on brand objectives.
With our new look, we communicate this balance of design flair and business/brand strategy with more clarity. We’re excited to continue working with forward-thinking brands, corporates and private clients to create experiences that deliver on beauty, buzz and business.
