We had the privilege of curating and designing a magnificent three-day wedding at the iconic La Residencia, A Belmond Hotel. Our collaboration with the Belmond Hotel allowed us to create an unforgettable experience within the artistic hub of Mallorca for the couple and their guests. ‘La Residencia was opened as a hotel in 1984. The first owner, a German investor, decorated the hotel in a rustic style with traditional Mallorcan furniture, fabrics and details. A style that was truly a revolutionary project. We have maintained this style until today, creating a signature look, but have collaborated with several different interior designers for smaller projects adding an artistic edge to the space.
The Tramuntana Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea surrounding La Residencia, make it a unique location. Our employees and service distinguish us from other hotels, and each guest is given the greatest of attention, creating truly unforgettable experiences.’
‘Emma and Freddie celebrated their welcome party on the picturesque patio of our fine-dining restaurant El Olivo. The Gin & Fizz bar offered a selection of refreshing gin-based cocktails and sparkling beverages, while the Picante station provided a spicy twist for those seeking a bolder flavour. A Guinness bar was also available for the guests, bringing a special taste of home for the bride and groom. Delicious authentic food was beautifully displayed, allowing guests to indulge in the ultimate Charcuterie boards featuring an assortment of cured meats and artisan cheeses. A live guitarist serenaded the party accompanied by an awe-inspiring sunset, setting the tone for a weekend filled with unforgettable memories.
As the wedding day commenced the couple were able to prep in two of the most iconic suites within the resort. These created the perfect backdrop to capture the pre-wedding excitement before heading to the ceremony. Following the nuptials, the bride and groom led their guests through the streets of Mallorca, which came alive with music and joy as the procession made its way back to the hotel for a memorable evening. Dinner was served on the divine Miró restaurant terrace, offering panoramic views overlooking the rolling hills. A perfect setting for an evening like no other, in which guests danced under the stars to a whole range of party entertainment.
The next day included an epic afternoon at the privatised pool. The beautiful Mallorcan sun and refreshing cocktails soothed sore heads and offered the perfect atmosphere for the final day of celebrations. An amazing DJ created the immaculate pool party vibes and transformed the poolside into a dynamic dance floor, where the bride and groom could let loose and revel in the joyous atmosphere with their family and friends.’
‘The Mathew Williamson suite is the most exclusive suite within the hotel, with its signature vibrant colours, rich botanicals and luxe textures, all combined with a rustic decadence, offering couples ‘home away from home’ accommodation. The suite is the perfect wedding evening location due to its private setting and carefully curated interior design, creating a truly special environment.
Some of Matthew’s favourites are the hand-painted ‘his and her’ wardrobes placed in the hallway connecting the two rooms. “These wardrobes take traditional Spanish carpentry to a whole new level. Meticulously painted floral bouquets adorn the facade with a turquoise patina effect adding to the suite’s rustic charm.’’
‘Since Emma and Freddie's wedding was a buy-out, they had access to all of the hotel's rooms, amenities, and services. A personal favourite for the couple was the patio on which two of the parties were hosted, however, we can adjust where necessary to fit with the client's needs. For example, a guest can ask to eaton the front lawn but count on the ambience of Restaurant Miró or have a romantic breakfast on our Mirador instead of at the breakfast restaurant.’
‘La Residencia differs from other hotels because of the variety of styles on each site. Let's start with our three restaurants, each with a distinct atmosphere and focus. Our fine-dining restaurant, El Olivo, is the ideal location for gatherings and wedding dinners. Restaurant Miró is a more laid-back and family-friendly option. Last but not least, Tramuntana Grill is the ideal spot for a sunny lunch next to the pool or a laid-back yet elegant dinner accompanied by live music. We are able to offer a diversity of venues for various events.’
