About our Director of Events… Well, where to start? Georgina Attwood, known as George to all, has an incredibly creative background and an enthusiasm some would slightly mad!!!
Born in Kent, George spent most of her holidays from school in Corfu, Greece. Sport and art were her great passions leading her to play hockey at a professional level before enrolling at Chelsea Art School for a year studying interior architecture. She then went onto Leeds to study Interior Architecture, Film, Theatre and Spatial Design. Whilst at university she did a placement with The Ivy Group and worked with the renowned Urban Caprice caterer doing their production design. Realising that creating parties was her calling in life, she moved to a small luxury high-end event company to learn the skills needed to work at the top. She gained experience in luxury events, planning for a number of clients such as Viscount and Viscountess Weymouth’s wedding at Longleat House. From there she moved onto work with Rhubarb caterer in London for four years working on some of their biggest events in London’s most well know venues including Kensington Palace, Natural History Museum, V&A, Banqueting House and many more.
Words from George
Starting a company was never a question of “am I going to do it” it was more, “when”! For me, being the best at what you do means gaining hands-on experience in all areas of the industry and all types of events. I worked by the motto ‘get behind the camera and do the hard stuff’. My time at Rhubarb allowed me to be involved in the planning of the BAFTA’s awards, Henley Music Festival, corporate dinners and many luxury weddings. Working at a high level allowed me to develop an exceptional eye for detail and consistently high standards on every level. I believe you are only as good as your last event. The pictures below are an example of some of my favourite events
The most important part of Moriarty is the team. Having a good and strong team around you is what makes the magic and allows extraordinary things to happen. I am lucky to have an amazing team, made up of people with very different working backgrounds and experiences, which brings a huge amount to the table. From design and catering to production and logistics, we have a wealth of experience in all types of events in the UK and all over Europe. That’s what’s so exciting about our company and why I’m so proud to be Founder of Moriarty.
