When it comes to innovative styling, we are always looking to enhance colour, texture and the depth of a design - not only creating a visually sensory setting but an intricate and detailed finish. We have loved working with ombré colour palettes over the last few months, to capture and elevate branding in a beautiful way whilst staying true to the brand’s codes.
Florals
When creating an ombré floral design, we adore a central focal point for the table to show transitioning tones clearly and bring a strong visual effect to the space. Additionally, keeping the styling clean and effective. We would also recommend choosing a species of flower that can come in a range of tones as your staple: roses are a versatile example. These should be paired with alternative species and foliage to give the design more depth and texture throughout.
To complement the installation, placing smaller single-tone arrangements throughout the space is a great way to continue to present the colour pallete in a precise way. The separate bouquets will draw guest’s attention to the main floral attraction, creating a more impactful visual experience for guests.
Collateral
When designing collateral for an event in ombré, the possibilities are endless! Our personal favourite is to continue using the crescendo of colours throughout, mirroring the effect of the flowers on invitations, menus and escort cards. This keeps the whole look consistent and ensures an even split of vibrancy throughout.
When working with a range of tones for example, pink and red, creating collateral that incorporates both colours can also be very effective. We recently styled an event using hand-drawn menus and escort cards in which the ink presented a range of pink and red tones, providing the perfect match for the ombré floral arrangements. This method still allows a mix of colours to be used, however in a more subtle way.
Little Touches
To elevate the look of your ombré setting further, adding little details to your table could be the perfect finishing touch. Despite the size of these features their impact on the overall feel of a space can have a significant impact, so it is definitely something to consider!
We absolutely love adding an embroidered bow to each place setting – they look so elegant and are a great way to incorporate two colours at once. If you are trying to create an understated aesthetic, embroidered napkins are also a great alternative to bows as they offer the same visual effect in terms of the colour combination, however look much more simplistic on the table.
Food & Beverage
We love to provide not only a beautiful setting for guests but an encounter that encapsulates all of their senses. Continuing the colourful theme within food and beverage offers a truly unforgettable experience.
We created a bespoke menu in which each course and paired cocktail was designed bespoke to match our client's branded pink, green and blue tones.
This not only offered guests an innovative meal like nothing they had tried before but also the perfect photo opportunity for attendees to capture the event. To add to this, it allowed guests to indulge in the client's branding in a completely new way, leaving a lasting impression for years to come.
The Colour Conclusion
Ombré themes allow you to incorporate various colours and tones within one look, offering flexibility with all other visual elements and creating an event filled with artistic vision and innovative design. Something we take pride in at Moriarty Events! Whether it’s a chic and sleek drinks reception or a warm and romantic dinner, embracing colour creates a setting filled with depth and carefully curated details.
