Moriarty Turns Five!

For five glorious, colour-filled years, Moriarty Events has been designing, curating and delivering vibrantly detail-filled events for private and corporate clients. As we celebrate turning five we’ve taken a look back over our favourite occasions, and offer a glimpse at what’s ahead.

Five Years Of Moriarty…

Today marks five incredible years of Moriarty Events. We hope you’ll forgive a little indulgence as we take this opportunity to look back over the past and some of our favourite moments. Though looking back, the past five years seem almost a blur; a colourful, vibrant, beautiful blur. There’s dancing, music, exquisite flowers, delicate details, champagne flowing, people laughing and amongst that vivid swirl of life is Moriarty, standing strong like a conductor leading an orchestra.

Of course, that blur of colour is understandable when you look at our weddings, parties, dinners and more. Every Moriarty event is artistically individual and creatively curated to delight, astound, and spark a conversation between guests. Each one is different, each mesmerising in its own way, so it can be challenging to pick out our favourites. But despite the ever-growing list of highlights, there are certain moments that stand out.

Take a journey with Moriarty

Let’s start at the beginning with Save the Elephants, the event that started it all! This beautiful fundraiser at the extraordinary Kensington Palace was attended by a host of supermodels, including Cara Delevingne, amongst other high profile guests, and showed the world what Moriarty was capable of. We didn’t start small, and we’ve carried on in the same way, going big with everything we do.

And from that point on we’ve showcased the same ambition. Over the last few years, we’ve designed some incredible showcase events for brands such as Hublot, Dom Pérignon, Cartier, Moët & Chandon, private equity firms and individual clients. From an elegant dinner for Manolo Blahnik held at The Wallace Collection, to a takeover of the Rosewood Hotel in Tuscany, our experiences are richly varied and never ordinary.

Our intimate dinner party for Rolex at the National Portrait Gallery demonstrated our ability to create delicate, refined styling along with touches of Rolex’s distinctive brand colours to create the perfect showcase for the watches. Our Easter extravaganza at The Lanesborough showed there were no limits to our imagination as our creativity came into its own with this immersive experience. A dining room unrecognisably transformed into a woodland, complete with real grass under the children’s feet, tree canopies cascading over their heads, animal noises and abundant colourful foliage set the scene for a playground of egg hunts, entertainers, arts and crafts.

Bringing people together took on more significance after the restrictions of Covid-19 and some of our favourite moments have been those like our spectacular transformation of the Victoria and Albert Museum for a corporate event. 270 guests were transported into Shakespeare’s imagination, with ethereal characters, an enchanted foliage tunnel and unworldly staging where they danced into the night while feasting on decadent sweet treats.

Finally, 2022 was a summer of love as we created two extravagant wedding weekends, less than two weeks apart! We began at the stunning Belcombe Court, where the space was completely transformed with a ceremony of Gypsophila clouds and a full floral and foliage ceiling in the marquee. The wedding weekend concluded with an epic pool party on the hottest day of the year, complete with an ice cream station and a wandering live band to continue the celebrations! With one wedding complete, we flew to Corfu to start the preparations for Binky Felstead and Max Darton’s big day. The party flowed from one day to the next; with private boats, beach parties and an elegant seafront ceremony. This was certainly a July to remember!

From Dom Pérignon to Cartier, private wedding spectators to intimate dinners, we’ve designed and produced over 80 events over the last five years and each one has been a unique, extraordinary explosion of creative beauty, finely polished detailing, and flawless execution.

The Future of Moriarty

As these events, and all those we’ve created over the past five years have shown, at our heart is a sense of adventure and a desire to travel beyond the everyday; the same characteristics that permeate every detail of our events. We are ‘navigators’, we invoke the spirit of adventure that drives explorers past and present and weaves through every detail of a Moriarty experience.

And as we look to the future, we’re still led by that sense of adventure, excited by what’s to come on our journey. We’re in a strong position, and looking forward to working with more brands and corporate firms, as well as our beloved private clients. We’ll continue building those bonds and friendships with an amazing clientele, moving into different industries and exploring new avenues. As the world opens up once more we’ll be working further afield, curating events for brands across the globe, in venues and locations where our international clients are based.

A Sustainable Future

As with so many companies, however our future unfolds, sustainability and the environment will play a large part. When so much of a Moriarty experience is inspired by the natural beauty of the world around us, protecting that beauty must be a natural part of our process. And so our drive for sustainability permeates every area of our work, from recycling within our own workspace and on site to gifting flowers to guests to take home, repurposing and reusing and working with suppliers with strong eco-credentials. As we look to the next five years, we see those sustainable, eco-conscious practices taking a more prominent role and they’re becoming more of a consideration in client’s briefs. We’re excited to be able to build on the experience we have to make our events among the most sustainable in the industry.

A Word from our Founder…

How do you sum up five incredible years in just one page? From the wildly exciting to the delightfully elegant, the last five years have been filled with laughter, vividly beautiful details, a hell of a lot of hard work, and truly memorable moments.

From working at my kitchen table on my own and dreaming of taking on the world of luxury events, to a shipping container in Brixton, and now our new stunning office space on the Strand with a fabulous team, we’ve come a long way in those five years. By my side that whole time has been Sophie, our amazingHead of Events. Moriarty’s success is down to her hard work, loyalty, and friendship and I’m so lucky to have had her as my partner in crime over the last five years.

We’ve made it through the lockdown restrictions of the Covid-19 pandemic, when there were times I wondered if the events industry would ever recover. In many ways we’ve come out stronger, more adaptable and able to tackle whatever obstacles emerge. And as anyone who works in events will know, there are always obstacles! I’ve kept the same team of loyal creative geniuses around me - we’ve stuck together through those challenging years and certainly emerged a stronger, tighter team than ever before.

That team has grown with two babies, and one more on the way! Yes, they may be small and perhaps not yet able to direct a wedding or plan and deliver a dinner party for 100 people, but the two little ones that have joined our team recently have brought even more joy and laughter to our already fun-filled team.

We’ve worked in our beloved London, searching and utilising unique and sometimes unknown venues to life with the colour we love to inject into every moment. And as we’ve grown as a company, we’ve travelled further afield; France, Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal and beyond - we’ve explored the most beautiful venues in the world and created extraordinary moments that will stay in our memories for a lifetime.

In striving to always be a little different, to travel beyond the everyday, we’ve created experiences that transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. Whether for our private clients or our corporate ones, we’ve injected personality and playfulness into every occasion.

As we grow, both in experience and team, I’m excited by the potential. The only limit on our events is our imagination, and as anyone who has attended a Moriarty party will know, that is boundless. With my team of hardworking, loyal visionaries by my side, and a support network of friends and family behind me, Moriarty’s future is bright. The team we have built and the diversity in knowledge means we can approach a building site in Shoreditch or Six Senses in Ibiza and know we have the right team to do the job! With so many different skills amongst the team, the styles and vibes we can create are endless. So when people ask what the next five years have in store, all I can say is that we’ll still be doing what we love!

Lastly, Moriarty would never have made it to this five year milestone without our clients, suppliers, followers and friends. Our corporate events have led to private client events - a testament to the strong relationships we’ve built both with clients and suppliers. You’ve trusted our vision, even when it may have seemed beyond the realms of possibility, and we’re excited to continue creating mesmerising extravaganzas, elegantly refined dinners, and truly individual experiences that tell your story, in your way.

Thank you for joining us on this journey, and here’s to another five years of Moriarty!
